Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer II to optimize core components of the Azure platform. You'll focus on performance analysis and software optimization, working with technologies like Azure and C#. This position requires prior experience in performance optimization.

Who you are
You have a solid background in software engineering with a focus on performance analysis and optimization — your experience includes working with operating systems and cloud fundamentals, particularly in a large-scale environment like Azure. You are enthusiastic about exploring new technical areas and have a growth mindset that drives you to continuously improve. Your ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with teammates and partners is one of your key strengths.
You possess a strong understanding of performance bottlenecks and have experience conducting investigations that span hardware-level issues, kernel and virtualization layers, and user-mode customer application code. Your prior experience in performance optimization is a significant asset, and you are eager to contribute to high-growth areas that are essential to Microsoft’s success.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for performance analysis and software optimization on the Azure Host platform, particularly focusing on new innovations such as the next generation of Microsoft Azure Boost offloading technology. You will work closely with partner teams to drive optimizations, leveraging your strong understanding of feature implementation and design. Your role will involve identifying performance bottlenecks across critical Azure scenarios and implementing fixes when necessary. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the overall performance and reliability of Microsoft’s cloud services, ensuring that Azure continues to deliver the speed and efficiency needed at a global scale.
