Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in QA automation or software development with a strong focus on test automation — you've worked in highly ambiguous environments and are proficient in writing and maintaining test automation for large codebases. Your solid foundation in computer science includes knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture, which you apply to ensure the highest standards of quality in your work.

You are passionate about quality and have a deep understanding of the latest test automation technologies and frameworks — your experience includes developing performance test plans and monitoring frameworks, and you have a keen interest in distributed query processing engines performance testing. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, complements your technical skills.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the MongoDB Query Team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a state-of-the-art distributed query system — your work will involve optimizing the MongoDB Query Language and ensuring that customer queries are answered correctly. You will collaborate with other engineers to improve optimization and execution frameworks while developing new query language features that power critical workloads for our customers.

You will help maintain the highest standards of quality through rigorous testing and automation strategies — your role will require you to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the systems you develop are robust and efficient. You will also be involved in performance testing and monitoring, contributing to the overall success of the query system.
