Job Description
Who you are
8+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining backend distributed systems — you've successfully owned features from inception to deployment and have a strong understanding of performance and scalability challenges. You are familiar with programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, and C++, and you have a solid grasp of cloud infrastructure services like AWS, GCP, and Azure. Your experience with containers and orchestration tools like Docker enables you to build and manage microservices effectively.
You possess a strong motivation and a desire to work at a startup pace, demonstrating a high degree of ownership in your projects. Your problem-solving skills shine when tackling performance optimization, scalability, and monitoring issues, and you have a keen interest in continuous learning and improvement. You hold a BS in computer science or a related field, which has provided you with a solid foundation in engineering principles.
What you'll do
As a Staff Engineer at Moveworks, you will build out core infrastructure services that impact our machine learning, frontend, and platform teams. Your responsibilities will include developing distributed configuration management systems, implementing rate limiting, and creating feature flags and A/B testing frameworks. You will also work on traffic capture and replay functionalities, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is performant, scalable, and observable.
You will deliver deadline-sensitive work that is interdependent with other engineering teams, owning features end-to-end and regularly influencing the infrastructure roadmap. Your role will require collaboration with various teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the organization and supports our innovative AI-enhanced technology. You will be expected to improve the performance and scalability of our cloud infrastructure while maintaining high standards of observability.
