Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, with a strong background in building and deploying predictive models that drive business outcomes. You are comfortable working hands-on with code, particularly in Python, and have a solid understanding of SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Your leadership experience includes building high-performing teams and mentoring data scientists through technical and career challenges.
You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering closely with stakeholders from R&D, Finance, and GTM to translate business problems into effective data solutions. You understand the importance of defining success criteria for models and are committed to iterating on them until they meet business metrics. Your communication skills allow you to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
What you'll do
As the Engineering Manager for Data Science at Mural, you will lead the design and delivery of key data products, including recommendation engines and churn prediction models. You will stay hands-on in model development while also setting the technical direction for your team. Your role will involve defining model success criteria, tracking performance, and ensuring that the models you ship improve retention, conversion, and revenue.
You will be responsible for building and developing your team, hiring strong data scientists, and coaching them through various challenges. Your success will be measured by the impact of the models on business metrics, not just their technical sophistication. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the data products align with Mural's strategic goals and deliver value to millions of users.
What we offer
Mural provides a supportive and inclusive work environment where you can grow your career while making a significant impact. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in shaping the future of collaboration through data-driven insights and innovative solutions.
