You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong focus on infrastructure and system performance. Your expertise in statistical modeling and causal inference allows you to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets. You are passionate about using data to drive improvements in system reliability and availability, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can partner with engineering teams.

You excel in metric research and development, understanding the nuances of what constitutes adequate performance across various systems. Your analytical mindset enables you to identify root causes of availability issues and make data-driven recommendations for prioritizing system performance improvements. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and technical product managers, to achieve common goals.

Desirable

Experience with large-scale data systems and familiarity with cloud infrastructure would be a plus. A background in software engineering or performance engineering can enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop metrics to measure the availability, reliability, and performance of Netflix’s infrastructure stack. You will partner closely with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics Engineers to create tools and perform analyses that inform decision-making. Your work will directly impact how Netflix prioritizes system performance improvements, ensuring that our infrastructure can support the growing demands of our global audience.

You will engage in deep analyses to understand the root causes of availability issues, collaborating with various teams to implement solutions that enhance system reliability. Your recommendations will guide the business in making informed decisions about infrastructure investments and improvements. You will also contribute to a culture of data-driven decision-making, sharing insights and best practices with your colleagues.
