Nielsen is hiring a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Big Data to analyze, develop, and support complex application software. You'll work with Java, Scala, Python, and Spark in Bengaluru, India.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing and supporting applications built on Big Data technologies. Your expertise includes programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python, and you are well-versed in using Apache Spark for data processing. You thrive in a Scrum/DevOps environment and are comfortable working collaboratively within a team to achieve project goals aligned with business objectives.
Your strong analytical skills enable you to dissect complex problems and develop effective solutions. You are familiar with Agile methodologies and understand the importance of delivering quality software in production. You have a passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning, always seeking to improve your skills and knowledge in the field.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is a plus, as is familiarity with SQL for database management. You are a proactive communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines makes you a valuable asset to any team.
What you'll do
