Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in avionics engineering with experience in shaping certifiable flight control architectures — you've led projects that integrate complex systems for unmanned aircraft and understand the intricacies of avionics hardware and real-time software. Your expertise includes dynamic modeling and familiarity with modular avionics architectures, which allows you to navigate the challenges of developing advanced aircraft systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all components of the aircraft work seamlessly together. Your programming skills in Python and C/C++ enable you to prototype and integrate various systems effectively, ensuring that the aircraft meets safety and performance standards.
You have experience with vision-based navigation, radar altimetry, or autonomous guidance, which is crucial for the development of advanced UAVs. Your knowledge of SORA/SAIL frameworks and development assurance processes ensures that you can lead projects that comply with regulatory standards. You are proficient in model-based systems tools such as Simulink, which allows you to create and analyze complex models that drive the design of avionics systems. Your passion for aviation and commitment to sustainability align with Odys Aviation's mission to build safe, sustainable aircraft that reduce travel time and CO2 emissions.
Desirable
Experience with networked FCCs or modular avionics architectures is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest advancements in UAV technology. You are always eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, which positions you as a valuable asset to the team.
What you'll do
As the Lead Avionics Engineer at Odys Aviation, you will lead the definition and development of flight control architectures for our advanced UAVs. You will collaborate with a team of expert engineers to design, test, and implement avionics systems that ensure the safety and efficiency of our aircraft. Your role will involve overseeing the integration of various systems, ensuring that they work together harmoniously to achieve optimal performance. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles.
You will engage in dynamic modeling and simulation to validate the performance of avionics systems, using tools like Simulink to create detailed models that inform design decisions. Your work will directly impact the development of our UAVs, as you will be involved in every stage of the process, from initial design through to testing and certification. You will also work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure that all systems meet the necessary safety and compliance standards.
What we offer
