You have over 5 years of experience in database engineering, with a strong focus on cloud database platforms. Your expertise includes designing, deploying, and optimizing databases on both Alibaba Cloud and AWS, ensuring high availability and performance. You understand the intricacies of various database types and can select the most appropriate solutions for different use cases. Your background includes hands-on experience with technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL, and you are comfortable working in a multi-cloud environment.

You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You have a proven track record of managing the full lifecycle of database systems, from initial design through to deployment and ongoing optimization. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and operations, ensures that database solutions align with overall business objectives. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends in database technology.

Desirable

Experience with blockchain technologies or crypto-related projects is a plus, as is familiarity with performance tuning and cost optimization strategies in cloud environments. You are also encouraged to apply if you have experience with database security practices and compliance standards.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of cloud database architectures that support OKX's growing platform. You will be responsible for optimizing existing database systems and ensuring they meet the performance and availability requirements of our applications. Your work will involve selecting the right database technologies for various projects, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB on AWS, as well as RDS and PolarDB on Alibaba Cloud.

You will collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate database solutions into applications, providing guidance on best practices for database access and management. Your role will also include monitoring database performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability. You will play a key role in capacity planning and scaling database systems to accommodate increasing user demand.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development of documentation and training materials to help other team members understand database systems and practices. You will also participate in code reviews and provide feedback on database-related code to ensure high-quality implementations.
