OneOncology is seeking a Palliative Care Physician to join the University Cancer & Blood Center in Athens, GA. You'll provide patient-centered care focused on quality of life and symptom management. This role requires an MD/DO degree and experience in palliative care.

Who you are

You are a dedicated Palliative Care Physician with a passion for improving the quality of life for patients facing serious illnesses. You hold an MD or DO degree and are board-certified or board-eligible in Palliative Care. Your experience in a clinical setting has equipped you with the skills to provide compassionate, interdisciplinary care. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive support to patients and their families. You understand the importance of holistic care and are committed to addressing not just the physical, but also the emotional and social needs of your patients.

Desirable

Fellowship training in Palliative Care is encouraged, and you are open to mentoring and guiding less experienced physicians. You have a strong interest in innovative care models and are eager to contribute to programs that enhance patient support services. Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to build trust with patients and their families while effectively collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

What you'll do

As a Palliative Care Physician at the University Cancer & Blood Center, you will play a crucial role in the Living Well Program, which aims to provide comprehensive support across the full range of cancer care. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care that focuses on symptom management and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, developing individualized care plans, and coordinating with other specialists to ensure holistic treatment approaches. You will also engage in discussions with patients and families about goals of care, treatment options, and advance care planning. Your role will involve educating patients and their families about palliative care services and the benefits of an interdisciplinary approach to treatment.
