Who you are

You have 5+ years of industry experience building and operating backend or infrastructure systems in production — you've designed and implemented scalable systems that prioritize data privacy and compliance. Your strong software engineering fundamentals are complemented by fluency in at least one major programming language, such as Python, Go, Rust, C++, or Java — you understand the nuances of backend architecture and are adept at creating robust, secure systems.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including product, infrastructure, security, and legal — your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is a key asset. You are passionate about protecting user data while enabling innovation, and you have a track record of embedding privacy-by-design principles into your work.

Your experience includes developing distributed authorization and identity-aware enforcement mechanisms — you are familiar with implementing auditability and policy hooks to ensure compliance is continuously verifiable. You have a keen eye for detail and are committed to hardening data platforms through schema-level controls and data handling constraints by default.

Desirable

Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations is a plus — you understand the importance of aligning technical designs with legal requirements. Familiarity with cloud platforms and data services will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to our team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and operate backend services that enforce policy-driven data access and lifecycle controls — your work will directly impact how we manage user data and ensure compliance. You will partner with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to convert privacy requirements into scalable technical designs and developer-friendly APIs — your contributions will help elevate trustworthy data access patterns across the organization.

You will collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure consistent enforcement across systems while minimizing duplicated implementations — your ability to create patterns and libraries will be crucial in achieving this goal. You will also contribute to the education of your peers on best practices for data privacy and compliance, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
