What you'll do

As a Staff Platform Engineer at Oportun, you will play a critical role in the Engineering Ecosystem Org, focusing on designing and developing software solutions that drive member engagement and satisfaction. You will collaborate with other engineers to create high-speed, high-quality systems that align with Oportun's mission of providing affordable credit.

Your responsibilities will include architecting and implementing robust software solutions, ensuring they are scalable and maintainable. You will participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and helping to maintain high coding standards across the team. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, ensuring that systems are reliable and performant.

You will work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential in ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals and timelines. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and helping them grow in their careers.
