Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a disciplined approach to engineering, ensuring that the solutions you create are not only effective but also maintainable and scalable.

You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of large technical projects, guiding them from ideation through to implementation. Your experience includes working with complex data systems, and you are comfortable analyzing large datasets to inform your engineering decisions. You are a role model within your team, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

In this role, you will establish the vision and technical direction for major initiatives within Optiver's trading infrastructure. You will design, develop, support, and maintain critical components of our trading systems, ensuring they operate with the highest levels of performance and reliability. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to respond to market events in microseconds, and you will work on systems that automatically price a diverse set of financial instruments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders and other engineers, to identify business problems and determine how they should be solved. Your role will involve refining and analyzing terabytes of data generated by market activity, ensuring that our systems provide coherent and responsive real-time visualizations of market activity and system performance. You will also be responsible for maintaining a stable and trusted foundation for our core systems, applying your engineering skills to create simple, well-architected solutions that meet the dynamic needs of our traders.
