Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable systems that improve user experiences and outcomes. Your expertise in Python and frameworks like FastAPI and Django allows you to create robust applications that meet user needs effectively. You are familiar with cloud services, particularly AWS, and understand how to leverage tools like Docker for containerization and deployment. Your experience with databases, especially PostgreSQL, ensures that you can design efficient data models and optimize queries for performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and machine learning to drive the architecture of applications. You are committed to maintaining high engineering standards, ensuring that code is well-reviewed, tested, and integrated seamlessly into existing systems.

What you'll do

In this role, you will tackle interesting problems with code, building new features for both internal and external users while also refactoring existing ones to enhance their performance and usability. You will engage deeply with both low-level systems and user interface components, collaborating with front-end teams to ensure a cohesive user experience. Your responsibilities will include driving the architecture of the application platform, considering both current needs and future product roadmaps. You will uphold high engineering standards, bringing consistency to the codebases you encounter and ensuring that software is adequately reviewed, tested, and integrated. Mentoring junior engineers and sharing knowledge with your peers will also be a key part of your role, fostering a culture of learning and improvement within the team.
