You are an experienced security engineer with a strong coding background — you thrive on tackling complex security challenges and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. You have hands-on experience in security engineering, where you've built security infrastructure and integrated security into development workflows. Your technical leadership skills allow you to effectively communicate security priorities and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You have a deep understanding of security practices in regulated environments — your experience in handling sensitive data ensures that you prioritize security in every aspect of your work. You are comfortable with end-to-end ownership of security processes, from application security to incident response, and you have a proven track record of building scalable security solutions.

What you'll do

As the first dedicated security engineer at Pylon, you will take charge of security across our mortgage infrastructure platform. You will write code to build security infrastructure and implement controls that protect sensitive borrower data. Your role will involve working closely with the CTO and engineering team to make informed security decisions that impact our architecture. You will assess security needs, prioritize tasks, and execute plans to enhance our security posture.

You will be responsible for embedding security practices into the engineering workflow, ensuring that security is a foundational aspect of our development processes. Your work will set patterns for other engineers to follow, fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the team. You will also lead incident response efforts, ensuring that we are prepared to handle any security incidents effectively.
