Your experience in managing security in distributed systems, particularly within Kubernetes environments, equips you to handle the evolving security needs of Q-CTRL's growing platform. You are proactive in identifying potential security risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data.

What you'll do

As the Lead Security Engineer at Q-CTRL, you will be responsible for establishing and growing the security team, shaping security practices from the ground up. You will work closely with the existing security engineer to develop a comprehensive security strategy that addresses the unique challenges of securing quantum control software. Your role will involve conducting security assessments, implementing security controls, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

You will lead initiatives to enhance the security posture of Q-CTRL's products, focusing on both on-premises and hybrid architectures. Collaborating with engineering teams, you will integrate security into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that security considerations are embedded in every stage of product development. You will also be responsible for monitoring security incidents, responding to threats, and conducting post-incident analyses to improve security measures.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization. You will stay abreast of emerging security trends and technologies, continuously evaluating and improving Q-CTRL's security strategies to adapt to the evolving threat landscape.
