Job Description
Who you are
You are a motivated problem solver with a strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions. You excel in navigating ambiguity and are eager to take ownership of various aspects of backend engineering from day one. Your experience spans designing, building, and managing data platforms and infrastructure that support robust data pipelines and analytic query engines.
You have familiarity with advanced analytics and reporting technologies, including Trino (Presto), Redshift, and BigQuery. Your understanding of database scaling and query optimization allows you to implement and optimize analytic query engines effectively. You are also knowledgeable about Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK, which you leverage to streamline deployment processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will architect, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data platform infrastructure. You will implement and optimize analytic query engines, ensuring they meet the performance and scalability requirements of the organization. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough code reviews and providing insightful feedback on technical designs to ensure the software we build is maintainable and dependable.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align platform engineering strategies with strategic business objectives. Your role will be pivotal in establishing engineering best practices and balancing engineering priorities with business needs. You will also identify innovative approaches to deliver outstanding value to our users, contributing to the overall success of the data platform.
