Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience building web applications and services, particularly in complex stakeholder environments. Your proficiency in Python and Go, along with a solid understanding of SQL, allows you to create robust backend systems that support high-load applications. You are familiar with distributed systems and understand the trade-offs necessary to balance load and latency effectively. Your experience in a startup or enterprise environment, especially in technical sectors like finance or AI, has equipped you with the skills to navigate regulated environments.

You have a strong grasp of modern development practices, including building and deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Your knowledge of cloud computing platforms, particularly GCP or AWS, enhances your ability to deliver scalable solutions. Additionally, you have experience mentoring junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.

Desirable

While not mandatory, familiarity with accounting or financial software would be a plus. You are eager to learn and adapt, always looking for ways to improve your skills and contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Rho, you will join the core product team to help build and scale our innovative finance platform. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement backend services that are efficient, scalable, and reliable. You will collaborate closely with product managers and frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration of services and a smooth user experience.

You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and monitoring. Your expertise in Python and Go will be crucial as you develop APIs and backend functionalities that support our platform's diverse features. You will also participate in code reviews, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the codebase remains maintainable and efficient.

In addition to your technical contributions, you will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and navigate challenges. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential as you work to align engineering efforts with business goals.
