You are well-versed in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and have experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes — you understand how to leverage these technologies to create efficient and scalable solutions. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, and finance, to ensure that all aspects of the wallet system are aligned with business goals.

You have a proven track record of driving architectural decisions and setting standards across engineering teams — your leadership style fosters innovation and encourages team members to contribute their ideas. You are passionate about creating user-friendly financial solutions that enhance user experience while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Experience in the gaming or digital marketplace sector is a plus, as is familiarity with regulated financial systems — you understand the unique challenges and opportunities in this space. What you'll do

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Wallets team, you will lead the technical design and execution of Roblox’s next-generation wallet system — your role will involve architecting a highly secure and scalable dual-wallet infrastructure that supports various financial transactions. You will collaborate closely with product managers and other engineering teams to define the requirements and ensure that the wallet system meets user needs and business objectives.

You will drive the development of features that enable users to seamlessly hold and transact with both Fiat and Robux currencies — your work will directly impact the user experience and the overall success of the Roblox economy. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the wallet system adheres to industry standards for security and compliance, working with legal and finance teams to navigate regulatory requirements.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor and guide other engineers on the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement — you will encourage innovative thinking and help your team members develop their skills. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the Wallets team.
