You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building scalable applications and systems. Your expertise in Java and JavaScript allows you to develop robust solutions that meet customer needs effectively. You are familiar with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and understand how to leverage them for building connected applications. You have experience working in cross-functional teams and can communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about the Internet of Things (IoT) and are excited about the potential of connected operations to transform industries. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and learning from others.

Desirable

Experience with React or similar front-end frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with asset tracking technologies. You have a keen interest in data analytics and how it can drive operational improvements. A background in the transportation or logistics industry would be beneficial, as it aligns with the focus of the Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer I at Samsara, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end solutions for our Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment product line. You will work closely with product managers and designers to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your role will involve developing software that tracks equipment utilization, monitors loads and temperatures using sensors, and provides real-time asset tracking solutions. You will participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices. Additionally, you will collaborate with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, contributing to the overall reliability and performance of our systems.

You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that leverage IoT data to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in physical operations.
