Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in maritime repair and shipyard operations, with hands-on experience that allows you to effectively lead and develop maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) programs. Your proven track record in the maritime industry demonstrates your ability to manage complex projects and build effective teams. You are a strategic thinker who can define processes, policies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive operational excellence. Your interpersonal skills enable you to establish and maintain relationships with shipyards, vendors, suppliers, and classification societies, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.

You thrive in a ground-zero role where you can shape the future of MRO capabilities for a fleet of vessels. Your experience in managing execution of MRO work on maritime assets equips you with the knowledge to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget. You are driven by a passion for innovation and excellence in maritime operations, and you are eager to contribute to the next generation of autonomous and intelligent platforms at sea.

What you'll do

In this role, you will launch and lead Saronic's MRO program, initially supporting 2 to 5 ships with plans for rapid scaling. You will define and implement processes and policies that govern repair and overhaul activities, ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include establishing relationships with key industry players, including shipyards and suppliers, to facilitate smooth operations and timely execution of maintenance tasks. You will also be responsible for managing the execution of MRO work on Saronic's assets and vessels under contract, ensuring that all work is completed to specification and within budget.

As a technical leader, you will guide your team in developing innovative solutions that enhance maritime operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices in maintenance and repair. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the MRO program. You will also be tasked with defining KPIs to measure the success of the program and reporting on progress to senior management.
