Job Description
Who you are
You have proven experience editing YouTube videos or long-form educational content — you understand the nuances of pacing, structure, and clarity that keep viewers engaged. Your strong editorial judgment allows you to enhance storytelling through effective video editing techniques.
You possess motion design ability, particularly with After Effects or equivalent software, enabling you to create clean, modern, and functional animations that support the narrative without distracting from it. Your high attention to detail ensures that every cut, timing, audio level, and on-screen text is polished and professional.
What you'll do
In this role, you will edit long-form recorded footage into tight, high-retention videos that resonate with audiences. You will improve pacing and structure while preserving the speaker's natural delivery, ensuring that the content is both engaging and informative. You will create and integrate motion graphics, including lower thirds, callouts, and simple explainer sequences, to enhance the viewer's understanding of the material.
You will also add B-roll, overlays, and on-screen text where it improves comprehension, handling audio cleanup and leveling to ensure a polished final product. Your ability to produce rough cuts and iterate quickly based on feedback will be crucial in maintaining a consistent style and quality across multiple brands and projects.
Additionally, you will work on improving our workflow over time by developing templates, presets, and reusable motion systems that streamline the editing process. Your familiarity with retention editing principles for YouTube will help in crafting videos that maximize viewer engagement and retention.
