You have 7+ years of experience building production data platforms with Python and SQL — you've designed and implemented systems that handle billions of market-data events daily, ensuring they are robust and efficient. Your deep expertise in big-data architecture includes partitioning, sharding, and using columnar formats to optimize performance. You are hands-on with SingleStore/MemSQL, and you understand how to leverage these technologies to create high-performance data solutions.

You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering closely with quants, data scientists, and fellow engineers to achieve sub-minute SLAs. Your experience includes mentoring junior engineers and enforcing best-in-class coding standards, fostering a culture of excellence within your team. You are passionate about Infrastructure-as-Code and have championed Git-driven CI/CD practices for every data asset you manage.

What you'll do

In this role, you will architect and operate a data platform that ensures 24x7 reliability and tight cost controls. You will build and evolve batch and streaming pipelines that ingest vast amounts of market data, optimizing workflows to meet aggressive SLAs while embedding observability and automated data quality checks throughout the process. You will expose curated datasets via robust, versioned APIs that are consumed by quants and AI agents, ensuring that the data is accessible and reliable.

You will continuously refine processes to keep the data ecosystem resilient and lightning-fast, collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape firm-wide architecture. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior engineers, optimizing existing systems, and implementing new features that enhance the platform's capabilities. You will play a crucial role in driving innovation and efficiency within Schonfeld's data operations.
