Who you are

You have over 6 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in the Big Data domain, where you've contributed to engineering, design, development, and deployment processes. Your technical expertise spans across various technologies, including Apache Spark, Kafka, and the Hadoop stack, allowing you to provide strong leadership in adopting and contributing to open-source technologies.

You are a hands-on coder with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Scala. Your understanding of programming principles and development practices, including check-in policies and unit testing, enables you to maintain high-quality code. You are a self-starter who can quickly grasp new concepts and technologies, translating them into large-scale engineering developments.

Your experience includes application development, integration development, and data management, which allows you to interface effectively with customers across leading Fortune 500 companies. You stay up-to-date with the latest technologies to ensure the greatest ROI for both customers and Sigmoid.

You have a solid understanding of enterprise-level code and are skilled in designing and implementing APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns to solve complex distributed computing problems. Your background in defining technical requirements, data extraction, and transformation, as well as automating and productionizing jobs, positions you well for this role.

Desirable

Exposure to functional programming is a plus, as is experience with third-party libraries and frameworks. You possess strong skills in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming concepts, which are essential for tackling challenges in the Big Data landscape.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for leading engineering efforts in the Big Data space, providing technical expertise and guidance to your team. You will work closely with clients to understand their strategic requirements and align Sigmoid's initiatives with their needs. Your hands-on coding experience will be crucial as you design and implement scalable solutions that meet client expectations.
