Skydio is hiring a Senior Camera Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability of their camera modules and sensors. You'll work closely with vendors and internal teams to drive failure analysis and implement corrective actions. This role requires expertise in hardware reliability and testing.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in hardware reliability engineering, particularly in the context of camera systems and sensors. Your experience includes defining reliability requirements and establishing test conditions to ensure high-performance products. You are adept at collaborating with module vendors and internal teams to drive and execute failure analysis, implementing corrective actions to enhance product reliability.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, which allows you to identify potential risks and mitigate them effectively. Your ability to participate in design reviews and facilitate Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) demonstrates your commitment to 'Design for Reliability' principles. You understand the importance of converting system requirements into module-level requirements documents, ensuring that all aspects of the camera systems meet the necessary standards.
What you'll do
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the Hardware Reliability Team at Skydio, focusing on the reliability of camera modules and sensors for next-generation drones. You will participate in design reviews, providing critical inputs to mitigate risks from the first prototypes to customer shipments. Your responsibilities will include managing reliability tests and qualifications at module vendors, ensuring that test plans are comprehensive and effective.
You will work closely with the System Reliability team to translate system requirements into actionable module-level requirements, ensuring seamless integration and high performance of camera systems. Your expertise will be crucial in driving improvements in design and processes to meet reliability requirements. You will also be responsible for documenting findings and communicating them effectively to stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
