Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and optimizing data pipelines. Your expertise in AWS and Databricks allows you to create scalable solutions that meet the needs of a growing organization. You understand the importance of data quality and have experience implementing best practices for data governance and security.

You are proficient in SQL and have experience with data modeling and ETL processes. You have a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and can work with large datasets efficiently. Your analytical mindset enables you to derive insights from data and support business intelligence initiatives effectively.

You are a strong communicator and collaborator, able to work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive business value. You are comfortable presenting your findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning frameworks or tools is a plus, as is familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI. You are always eager to learn new technologies and methodologies to enhance your skill set and contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and implement data pipelines that support Sonatype's business intelligence efforts. You will work closely with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your work will involve extracting data from various sources, transforming it to meet business needs, and loading it into data warehouses.

You will also be responsible for ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. This includes monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance. You will collaborate with the engineering team to integrate data solutions into existing systems and workflows.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will mentor junior team members and share your knowledge of best practices in data engineering. You will contribute to the development of data governance policies and help establish a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization.
