Principal Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a strong background in quality engineering with a focus on manufacturing processes — your experience includes identifying and resolving quality issues across various stages of production, including IQC, SMT, DIP, Assembly, OQC, and RMA. You are skilled in analyzing key quality performance indicators and have a proven track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives by applying relevant methodologies. Your ability to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams ensures that corrective actions are effectively implemented, enhancing product reliability and performance.

You are detail-oriented and possess a deep understanding of quality management systems (QMS) — your expertise allows you to maintain and augment ongoing quality mechanisms such as Out of Box Audit (OOBA), Acceptable Quality Level (AQL), and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). You have experience conducting supplier audits and managing the score board process, ensuring that all partners meet the highest quality standards. Your analytical skills enable you to perform in-depth failure analyses and coordinate with design teams to implement effective resolutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will closely monitor manufacturing operations to ensure that products meet the highest quality and reliability standards. You will identify manufacturing quality issues and work collaboratively with suppliers to analyze these issues and implement corrective actions. Your responsibilities will include analyzing key quality performance indicators and identifying areas for improvement in product design, manufacturing processes, and equipment. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives by applying relevant methods and best practices.

You will manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) issues and perform thorough failure analyses, coordinating with design teams and suppliers to implement effective resolutions. Additionally, you will maintain and enhance ongoing quality mechanisms such as OOBA, AQL, and KPI, ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards. Conducting supplier audits and managing the score board process will also be key components of your role, as you strive to uphold SonicWall's commitment to quality and reliability in its products.
