Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in embedded systems, with experience in developing software for custom silicon ASICs. Your proficiency in C and C++ allows you to write efficient and reliable code for flight-critical applications. You are comfortable working with Python for scripting and automation tasks, and you have a keen interest in RF systems, even if you don't have prior experience in the field. You thrive in interdisciplinary environments, tackling complex problems with innovative solutions. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with hardware engineers and other software developers to bring cutting-edge technology to life. You are eager to learn and grow, embracing challenges as opportunities for professional development.
Desirable
Experience with phased array antennas or satellite communications would be a plus, but is not required. Familiarity with RF testing and characterization techniques will help you excel in this role. A background in aerospace or telecommunications can provide valuable context for your work, but your ability to adapt and learn quickly is what truly matters.
What you'll do
As an Antenna Software Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing embedded software that drives the operation of Starlink's phased array antennas. You will work on software for custom modem and beamformer silicon ASICs, ensuring that the systems operate reliably in the challenging environment of space. Your role will involve writing flight-critical software that meets stringent performance and safety standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to characterize antennas in anechoic chambers and define the RF tests necessary for production. Additionally, you will build tools to analyze the on-orbit performance of our satellite fleet, contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology and help bridge the digital divide for underserved communities around the world.
What we offer
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to making space travel accessible and enabling human life on Mars. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our projects. Join us in our quest to revolutionize space technology and make a difference in the world.
