You have 5+ years of experience in a precision machining environment, demonstrating a deep understanding of machining processes and operations. Your leadership experience spans at least 2 years, where you've successfully managed teams of engineers, machinists, and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. You possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, equipping you with the necessary technical and managerial skills to excel in this role. Your ability to forecast business needs and implement effective plans showcases your strategic thinking and operational expertise.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, adept at adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency. Your creative problem-solving skills enable you to question the status quo and drive continuous improvements in manufacturing processes. What you'll do
As the Manager of Machining Operations at SpaceX, you will lead and manage a diverse team responsible for machining operations related to the Starlink project. Your primary responsibilities will include driving improvements in manufacturability, cycle times, cost, and quality through collaboration with engineering and operations teams. You will set priorities for your team, leveraging their strengths to maximize output and delegate tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
You will coordinate with the broader Starlink team to ensure that the machine shop's focus aligns with the most impactful projects for the success of Starlink. Your role will require you to meet tight schedules while adapting to the dynamic nature of production and engineering demands. You will also implement machine maintenance schedules and ensure the availability of backup spares to maintain uptime and performance.
