Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for the High Pressure Die Casting team in Bastrop, TX. You'll provide engineering support for production equipment and lead maintenance technicians in troubleshooting complex issues. This role requires experience in maintenance engineering and familiarity with CMMS and predictive tools.

Who you are

You have a strong background in maintenance engineering, with experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment failures. Your expertise in root cause analysis allows you to identify and address equipment, process, and behavioral gaps effectively. You are skilled in developing and executing improvement projects that maximize production equipment availability, ensuring that operations run smoothly.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with development engineering teams to enhance reliability and maintenance efficiency from the outset of projects. Your leadership skills enable you to guide maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement. You are familiar with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and have experience implementing predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis.

What you'll do

As a Maintenance Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technically complex equipment failures. You will perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective measures to address any identified gaps in equipment and processes. Your role will involve developing and executing complex improvement projects aimed at maximizing the availability of production equipment, which is critical for the success of the Starlink program.

You will collaborate with development engineering teams to ensure that reliability and maintenance efficiency are built into projects from the beginning. This may involve proposing design adjustments based on your insights and experiences. You will also be responsible for utilizing CMMS to track maintenance activities and ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

In addition, you will implement predictive maintenance tools to anticipate equipment failures before they occur, thereby minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity. Your contributions will play a key role in enabling SpaceX to achieve its ambitious goals in the Starlink program, ultimately supporting the mission of making human life on Mars a reality.
