Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and you possess strong analytical skills that allow you to tackle complex engineering challenges. You have experience in mechanical design, particularly in the aerospace or satellite industry, and are familiar with the full design lifecycle from ideation to production. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams is essential, as you will work closely with electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure the successful deployment of satellite payloads.
You are proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, enabling you to create detailed mechanical designs and simulations. Your understanding of structural, thermal, and electromechanical systems is critical, as you will be responsible for ensuring that the satellite hardware meets rigorous performance and reliability standards. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology.
What you'll do
As a Mechanical Engineer on the Satellite Payload team, you will be responsible for designing and testing various components of the satellite hardware. You will engage in the entire design process, from conceptualization to prototyping and testing, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and performance criteria. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components, ensuring seamless operation of the satellite payloads.
You will conduct thermal and structural analyses to validate your designs, using simulation tools to predict performance under various conditions. Your role will also involve troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the testing phase, working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that designs are feasible for large-scale production. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology that enables high-speed internet access globally through the Starlink satellite constellation.
