What you'll do

As a Security Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for building and improving existing security detection mechanisms and automation frameworks — your work will directly impact the ability to detect and respond to threats targeting SpaceX's operations. You will develop tooling and data delivery mechanisms that the security operations team will use to monitor for adversarial activities. Your role will involve creating automation workflows that reduce the time required to triage security detections, ensuring that the team can act quickly and effectively in the face of potential threats. You will also work on integrating new datasets and enriching existing ones to enhance visibility across the security landscape.

In addition to developing security solutions, you will collaborate closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to address visibility gaps identified during incidents — your insights will help shape the incident response process and improve overall security posture. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to protecting SpaceX's mission-critical systems, and your contributions will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of operations that support rocket launches and spacecraft control.
