You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a related discipline, along with 4+ years of professional experience in software development, or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree. You are a smart, motivated, and collaborative engineer who loves solving complex problems and is eager to contribute to an inspiring mission. Your background includes experience in developing software systems, and you are comfortable engaging with both software and hardware engineers to create reliable solutions. You are focused on continuous improvement and are ready to take ownership of the software development life cycle, from design to testing and mission integration.

Desirable

Experience in aerospace or related fields is a plus, but not required. You are open to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies as needed. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Flight Software team, you will design, develop, and test software that controls SpaceX's flight systems for the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles. You will be responsible for developing highly reliable autonomous software systems and simulations to validate them. Your role will involve creating prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints. You will own all aspects of software development, including design, testing, and mission integration, ensuring that the software you create meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. You will provide strong technical leadership within the team, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation in software development practices.
