Supplier Development Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a strong background in supplier development and engineering, particularly in the context of PCBA processes. Your experience includes managing electronic products and ensuring continuity of supply for complex systems. You are familiar with collaborating closely with design engineers to understand the design intent of components and systems.

You possess expertise in evaluating supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems, allowing you to strategically source parts that align with supplier competencies. Your technical knowledge extends to defining supplier requirements and implementing processes like the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

What you'll do

In this role, you will own and manage the PCBA processes for the Starshield supply chain, ensuring that internal production has the necessary assemblies to meet program volume targets. You will collaborate with design engineers to gain a deep understanding of the design intent behind piece parts and assemblies, which will inform your decisions on supplier selection and management.

You will support the procurement team by reviewing and assessing supplier capabilities, ensuring that the parts sourced meet the technical requirements necessary for hardware manufacturing. Your role will also involve implementing and monitoring the PPAP with selected suppliers to enable production at scale.
