Who you are

You are a recent graduate eager to start your career in trading, with a strong interest in financial markets and a desire to learn from experienced professionals. You possess a foundational understanding of fundamental and macro analysis, and you are keen to develop your skills in portfolio construction and risk management. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with senior traders and quantitative researchers, leveraging their expertise to enhance your own learning.

You are detail-oriented and analytical, capable of monitoring and analyzing portfolio performance to generate insightful risk reports. Your ability to generate PnL tracking and attribution reports will be crucial in supporting the trading team. You are motivated by the challenge of executing large or complex trades and are eager to learn how to manage risk effectively over time.

What you'll do

As a Junior Discretionary Trader, you will work closely with senior discretionary traders, receiving on-the-desk training and mentorship to help you grow in your role. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in maintaining target portfolio positions, which involves daily monitoring and maintenance of the portfolio. You will collaborate with senior traders to structure and evaluate new trading opportunities, ensuring that you are actively contributing to the team's success.

You will generate PnL tracking and attribution reports based on trade ideas, providing valuable insights into the performance of the portfolio. Monitoring and analyzing portfolio performance will be a key part of your role, as you will be responsible for generating risk reports that inform trading decisions. Additionally, you will learn how to hedge books and allocate hedges appropriately, gaining hands-on experience in risk management strategies.

Executing large or complex trades that cannot be automated will also be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to apply your analytical skills in real-world scenarios. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a broad range of skills in discretionary trading, working alongside a team of experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.
