Who you are
You have a strong background in risk management, particularly in the context of fraud prevention. Your expertise with SQL allows you to analyze large datasets effectively, identifying patterns and anomalies that could indicate fraudulent activity. You are proficient in quantitative tools such as Python or R, which you use to build models that predict and mitigate risks. Your experience in payments, especially with regional payment methods, gives you a unique perspective on the challenges faced in the financial ecosystem. You thrive in collaborative environments, having worked closely with Engineering, Operations, and Data Science teams to implement effective risk strategies. You are comfortable navigating fast-paced and rapidly changing startup environments, adapting quickly to new challenges and opportunities.
Desirable
Experience with trust and safety initiatives is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest trends in fraud detection and prevention. You may have a background in data science or analytics, which enhances your ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in the evolving landscape of digital payments will set you apart.
What you'll do
As a Fraud Strategist on the Merchant Fraud team, you will be responsible for analyzing accounts and transactions to identify and predict risky behavior that could result in losses for Stripe. Your work will directly contribute to enabling safer payments for users and managing payment risks intelligently. You will face complex and dynamic problems, requiring you to stay ahead of ever-evolving fraud tactics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that effectively reduce risk while preserving a healthy financial ecosystem. Your role will involve continuous monitoring and assessment of fraud patterns, allowing you to adapt strategies as necessary to combat new challenges. You will also be expected to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring that all teams are aligned in their approach to risk management.
