Swile is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Android platform to deliver high-quality user experiences. You'll work with Java and Kotlin to develop and maintain the Android app. This position requires deep Android expertise and experience in mobile architecture.

Who you are
You have extensive experience in mobile software engineering, particularly with Android, and a strong understanding of delivering high-performance applications. Your expertise in Java and Kotlin allows you to write well-documented, tested code that meets high-quality standards. You are committed to ensuring that the Android app performs well on various devices, including older models, and you prioritize security and stability in your work. You have a proven track record of owning user-facing features from design to implementation, and you are passionate about elevating the user experience.
You possess strong leadership skills and are capable of setting and enforcing mobile quality targets, such as crash-free rates and accessibility compliance. You are adept at leading mobile architecture discussions and establishing standards that your team follows. Your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and backend engineers, ensuring that all aspects of the app align with user needs and business goals. You are data-driven in your decision-making and are comfortable mentoring other engineers to improve team performance.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take ownership of Android features, guiding them from problem framing through design, implementation, rollout, and monitoring. You will set quality targets for the mobile application, ensuring that it meets high standards for performance and user satisfaction. You will lead discussions on mobile architecture and best practices, influencing multi-team designs and standards adoption across the organization. Your responsibilities will include conducting code reviews to maintain quality and mentoring junior engineers to foster their growth.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to ensure that the app meets user expectations and business objectives. Your role will involve analyzing user feedback and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in the app's functionality and user experience. You will also be responsible for documenting your work and sharing knowledge with your team, contributing to a culture of learning and collaboration.
