You are a talented engineer with over 3 years of professional experience, particularly in Rust, and you thrive in collaborative environments. Your passion for contributing to the decentralization of blockchain ecosystems drives your work, and you are excited about building new infrastructure technologies. You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or have equivalent experience, and you are eager to tackle technical challenges alongside a dedicated team.
Your experience with memory-managed languages such as Zig or C/C++ is a plus, but your primary expertise lies in Rust. You are comfortable navigating complex codebases and are keen to learn and adapt to new programming languages and technologies. You understand the importance of high standards in software development and are committed to delivering quality work.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Syndica, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a high-performance Solana validator client from scratch. Your primary responsibility will involve understanding the Agave validator implementation codebase, which is written in Rust, and translating, optimizing, and improving this implementation in Zig. You will collaborate closely with your team to ensure that the new open-source Solana validator client, Sig, meets the high standards expected in the Web3 space.
You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from design through development, and will be expected to deliver tasks with minimal guidance. As you establish trust within the team, you will also help mentor new engineers joining the project, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their growth. Your contributions will directly impact the decentralization efforts within the blockchain ecosystem, and you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of Web3.
