Telesat is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst for their Engineering Operations team to provide financial support and analysis. You'll work closely with the CTO and CNIO on capital and operational expenditures. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience in financial planning.

Who you are
You have a strong background in financial analysis, particularly within engineering operations, and are adept at providing financial support to senior leadership. Your experience includes working with capital and operational expenditures, ensuring that financial variances are clearly understood and reported. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to establish effective channels with budget coordinators and support decentralized reporting for budget managers.
You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying operational variances, which you report as part of the monthly financial close. Your analytical skills enable you to assist in running and updating financial databases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting. You are also comfortable stepping in as a backup for budgeting and planning tasks, showcasing your versatility in financial roles.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be part of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, focusing on Engineering Operations and corporate-wide Capital Expenditures activities. You will assist the Manager FP&A in providing comprehensive financial support to the CTO and CNIO, ensuring that their Capex and Opex reflect the operations of their group. You will analyze financial data to understand operational variances and communicate findings effectively.
You will establish regular communication with budget coordinators to understand variances and support decentralized reporting for budget managers. Additionally, you will become proficient in running and updating the rolling forecast and Adaptive database for reporting, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Your role will be crucial in supporting the financial planning process and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
