Overview

Tempus is seeking a Senior Government Affairs Associate to support government relations efforts and advocate for AI policies. This role requires a background in political science or public policy and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred. You bring at least 2 years of experience in government affairs or a related field, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex legislative environments and advocate effectively for policies that promote the ethical use of AI technologies.

Your strong analytical skills allow you to monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to AI and technology. You excel in building and maintaining relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, ensuring that you can effectively influence policy decisions.

You are detail-oriented and skilled in preparing briefing materials, policy papers, and presentations for both internal and external audiences. Your ability to coordinate and attend meetings, hearings, and events with government representatives showcases your commitment to advancing the company's government affairs initiatives.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support the development and execution of government affairs strategies aimed at influencing policy decisions that impact the growth and ethical use of AI technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align government affairs initiatives with business objectives, ensuring that the company's voice is heard in legislative discussions.

You will conduct research on emerging issues and trends in AI policy and regulation, providing valuable insights to senior management. Your responsibilities will include preparing reports and updates on government affairs activities, ensuring that the leadership team is informed and equipped to make strategic decisions.

You will play a crucial role in advocating for policies that promote the responsible use of AI, working closely with industry stakeholders to build coalitions and support initiatives that align with the company's mission.
