Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data science, particularly in applying machine learning techniques to solve business problems. Your strong analytical skills allow you to derive insights from complex datasets, and you are proficient in SQL and Python, enabling you to manipulate and analyze data effectively. You have a solid understanding of data visualization tools and can communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy partnering with cross-functional teams to drive impactful decisions.
Desirable
Experience with AI tools and frameworks is a plus, as Thumbtack is evolving its function to be AI-native. Familiarity with talent analytics and the employee lifecycle will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
As a Senior Data Scientist at Thumbtack, you will play a foundational role in shaping how data and analytics inform talent decisions. You will partner closely with the People Team to tackle high-impact questions and define success metrics. Your responsibilities will include building data foundations and products that make insights scalable, telling clear, business-relevant stories about talent using data, and delivering actionable insights to senior leaders. You will also be involved in exploring and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance the People Data Science function.
