Who you are
You have a strong background in machine learning operations, with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Your expertise includes designing and scaling ML processes and tooling at production scale, ensuring high availability and reliability for services across multiple tenants. You excel in fast-paced environments and are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, infrastructure, research, and sales.
You are technically proficient in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and have hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Your programming skills in Python enable you to build automation processes that enhance operational efficiency. You understand the intricacies of ML APIs and are committed to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
You thrive on problem-solving and are driven to improve systems and core business metrics. Your communication skills allow you to effectively advocate for customer needs and provide constructive feedback to engineering and infrastructure teams. You are passionate about operational excellence and continuously seek ways to optimize processes.
Desirable
Experience with generative AI models and multi-tenant serverless architectures is a plus. Familiarity with performance SLAs and monitoring tools will help you succeed in this role. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your team's capabilities.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the availability and performance SLAs for production inference and fine-tuning services. You will design and implement automation processes that streamline operations, ensuring that our ML API offerings meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. Collaborating closely with engineering and infrastructure teams, you will provide insights and feedback to enhance our systems.
You will lead initiatives to optimize operations for differing tenants and user loads, managing multi-cluster deployments effectively. Your role will involve monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions that improve service delivery. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
