Who you are
You have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in building user-facing features for high-traffic web applications. Your background includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, which has equipped you with a solid foundation in software development principles. You are proficient in JavaScript and have experience with frameworks like React, enabling you to create dynamic and responsive user interfaces. You understand the importance of code quality and strive to write clean, efficient, and well-tested code, serving as a role model for coding standards and best practices. Your collaborative spirit shines through as you partner with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to translate ambiguous business needs into concrete technical specifications. You are also adept at making architectural decisions that balance immediate product needs with long-term system health and extensibility.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and implement user-facing features for critical web properties within Uber Ads, ensuring high availability and performance at scale. You will proactively identify performance bottlenecks and technical debt, driving initiatives to improve system reliability and developer efficiency. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into technical specifications, as well as making architectural decisions that support both immediate and long-term goals. You will also be expected to maintain high coding standards and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence within the team. As a key stakeholder in advancing Uber Ads' high-growth mission, your contributions will directly impact the speed of campaign go-live times and the accuracy of billing for advertisers.
