Job Description
Who you are
You are an exceptional attorney with a strong background in European payments and financial services — your expertise allows you to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and provide strategic legal advice to business leaders. You have a proven track record of working collaboratively with legal, commercial, product, and operations teams to drive successful outcomes in the payments ecosystem.
You possess a deep understanding of financial services regulations, consumer protection themes, and compliance requirements such as AML and KYC — your ability to proactively monitor and advise on these regulations ensures that the business remains compliant while pursuing innovative opportunities. You are skilled at negotiating and drafting legal agreements that support new product developments and partnerships.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for the EU Payments team, providing legal guidance on a variety of issues related to payments and fintech innovations. You will work closely with colleagues across different teams to set strategy and provide legal leadership, ensuring that Uber's payments infrastructure operates smoothly within the EU regulatory framework. You will be involved in the design and launch of new products and initiatives, advising on legal risks and opportunities that arise during these processes.
You will also monitor current and emerging financial services regulations, advising the business on how these changes could impact Uber's operations and growth strategies. Your role will require you to engage with business leadership to discuss legal risks and opportunities, helping to shape the future of Uber's financial services offerings in the EU.
