Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of experience in formulating machine learning problems from ambiguous business requirements, particularly in risk, fraud, or security contexts. Your expertise in translating complex security needs into well-defined ML problems sets you apart, and you thrive in environments where you can develop, iterate, and productionize ML models that drive real-time, risk-adaptive decisions.
Your technical skills include proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow. You are familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, enabling you to integrate ML systems into critical access pathways effectively. You also possess strong collaboration skills, allowing you to work seamlessly across Security, Risk, and Infrastructure teams.
What you'll do
As a Senior ML Engineer at Uber, you will be at the forefront of building dynamic, data-driven security systems. Your primary responsibility will be to translate business and security needs into concrete ML problems, developing and iterating on solutions that can be taken end-to-end into production. You will engineer features from Uber's risk systems, logs, and contextual signals, ensuring that the ML models you create are robust and scalable.
You will collaborate closely with various teams to deliver production-ready solutions that enhance Uber's Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, sharing best practices in machine learning, and helping to shape the ML strategy within the AI Security team. This is a unique opportunity to work on greenfield projects that intersect ML, security, and infrastructure, ultimately shaping how Uber secures AI at scale.
What we offer
Uber provides a collaborative work environment where innovation is encouraged. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technology that impacts the security landscape of AI. The company values diversity and encourages you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Competitive compensation and benefits are part of the package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
