Who you are
You are currently completing or have recently completed a PhD program in a relevant field, with a strong foundation in machine learning and data science. You possess a passion for building high-impact consumer-facing products and have experience in developing machine learning models and data pipelines. Your coding skills are strong, particularly in Python, and you are comfortable writing clean, maintainable code that adheres to best practices. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work alongside talented engineers, product managers, and data scientists to drive impactful outcomes.
Desirable
Experience with Hive or similar technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with real-time services and online model serving. You have a keen interest in tackling challenging problems at scale and are excited about shaping core pricing mechanisms within a large marketplace. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies as needed.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and build innovative products that are used by hundreds of millions of consumers. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and applied/data scientists to enhance the efficiency of key delivery marketplace pricing levers through the development and optimization of machine learning models. You will also be responsible for building offline data pipelines using Hive or similar technologies, ensuring that data flows seamlessly through the system. Your work will directly impact the consumer journey across Uber's Delivery products, including food delivery and groceries.
You will engage in the full end-to-end flow of product development, from initial concept through to deployment and user experience. This includes writing high-quality code, conducting experiments to validate your models, and iterating based on feedback and performance metrics. You will have the opportunity to tackle complex challenges and contribute to the growth and efficiency of Uber's marketplace.
