Who you are
You have extensive experience in program management, particularly in operational resilience and business continuity. Your background combines strong operational expertise with a solid engineering foundation, enabling you to create and execute effective strategies for disaster recovery and business continuity. You are skilled in leading enterprise-wide Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments, allowing you to accurately identify critical functions and evaluate potential threats.
You possess a deep understanding of industry standards such as ISO 22301 and NIST, which guide your approach to developing and maintaining comprehensive Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery (DR) policies. Your ability to manage and coordinate regular simulation drills and tabletop exercises ensures that the organization is well-prepared for any disruptions.
You are a strategic thinker who can define the scope and direction for global operational resilience programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Your strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with various departments, fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience across the organization.
Desirable
Experience with regulatory compliance and familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks will be advantageous in this role. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you can make a significant impact.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for driving Uber's operational resilience initiatives. You will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive plans that ensure the company's ability to withstand and recover from significant disruptions. This includes managing risk assessments and Business Impact Analyses to identify critical functions and interdependencies.
You will govern and maintain enterprise-wide Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective. Regular simulation drills and tabletop exercises will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to test the effectiveness of these plans and make necessary adjustments based on post-incident reviews.
Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with engineering and operational departments to ensure that all aspects of the business are prepared for potential disruptions. You will also be responsible for defining the strategic direction of the Global Operational Resilience program, aligning it with Uber's organizational objectives and industry standards.
