Who you are

You have over 7 years of extensive data engineering experience working with large data volumes and various data sources — you've built and maintained data pipelines that handle petabyte-scale analytics, ensuring data quality and reliability across multiple teams. Your strong data modeling skills enable you to define the Source of Truth (SOT) and design datasets that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders. You possess a deep understanding of data processing and are adept at identifying unified data models in collaboration with data science teams.

You are skilled in streamlining data processing from original event sources and consolidating them into source of truth event logs — your experience includes building systems that monitor data losses and improve data quality. You take ownership of the data quality and reliability of Tier-1 and Tier-2 datasets, maintaining their SLAs and consumption metrics. You thrive on solving challenging data problems using cutting-edge design and algorithms, and you are passionate about fostering a data-driven mindset within your team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the Source of Truth (SOT) and dataset design for multiple Uber teams, ensuring that data models are unified and effective. You will collaborate closely with data science teams to identify and implement strategies for data processing and consolidation. Your work will involve building and maintaining both real-time and batch data pipelines that clean up usage analytics and enhance data quality.

You will own the data quality and reliability of critical datasets, ensuring they meet established SLAs and are consumed effectively across the organization. Additionally, you will devise strategies to address data losses by correlating different sources, ensuring that Uber's decision-making processes are based on accurate and reliable data. You will also tackle complex data challenges, applying your expertise in design and algorithms to drive improvements in data processing and analytics.
