What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on Upstart’s Event Bus, Experimentation, and gRPC team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing frameworks that support Event Driven Architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build tools that facilitate the safe rollout of new features and improve service communication. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews to ensure high standards are met.

You will take ownership of the build process and libraries for the supported languages, ensuring they are user-friendly and secure. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Upstart's engineering teams, enabling them to deliver exceptional digital-first lending experiences. You will also engage in troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your expertise, and fostering a collaborative team environment. You will participate in team meetings, contribute to architectural discussions, and help shape the direction of the team's projects.
