You have over 5 years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building and scaling production-ready products from scratch. Your expertise in Java allows you to create robust and efficient systems that meet the needs of modern business banking. You are a quick learner with an ambitious and results-driven personality, ready to tackle challenges in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills are part of your toolkit, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Your entrepreneurial spirit shines through as you join Venn on the ground floor, contributing to the transformation of business banking for Canadian entrepreneurs.
Desirable
Experience at an early-stage or fast-growing startup is a plus, as is familiarity with fintech and payment products such as card issuing and money transfers. Side projects that showcase your skills and passion for technology will also be viewed favorably.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the development of financial services products, including transfers, cards, and lending solutions. You will ensure that these systems are production-ready and capable of supporting thousands of Canadian businesses. Collaborating with product, sales, and operations teams, you will work to understand and solve customer pain points, integrating with banking partners and third-party APIs to enable features like virtual cards and international money transfers. Your ability to operate independently and work directly with product owners will be crucial as you leverage your experience in shipping products in a startup environment.
