Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a strong background in designing and implementing security controls for cloud-native platforms. Your expertise in AWS and Terraform allows you to build secure infrastructure that supports rapid growth while maintaining compliance and security best practices. You are familiar with Docker and Kubernetes, enabling you to secure containerized applications effectively. You understand the importance of CI/CD pipelines and have experience integrating security into these workflows. Your analytical skills help you conduct threat modeling and risk analysis, ensuring that critical systems are protected against vulnerabilities. You are proactive in staying ahead of cloud security trends and adopting cutting-edge technologies to enhance platform resilience.
Desirable
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices is a plus, as it allows you to automate security controls and streamline deployment processes. Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards will further strengthen your candidacy. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with platform and infrastructure teams to integrate security best practices into architecture and workflows. Your communication skills enable you to articulate security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a culture of security awareness across the organization.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead hands-on efforts to harden Vercel's platform, ensuring that infrastructure security is foundational to how the company builds and scales its services. You will design and implement scalable security controls across the cloud-native platform, focusing on building secure by default infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include hardening infrastructure components using Infrastructure as Code, policy enforcement, and service isolation. You will collaborate closely with platform and infrastructure teams to integrate security best practices into architecture and workflows, ensuring that security is a shared responsibility across the organization.
You will stay ahead of cloud security trends and adopt cutting-edge technologies to enhance platform resilience. Conducting threat modeling, risk analysis, and mitigation planning for critical systems will be a key part of your role, allowing you to identify and address potential vulnerabilities proactively. You will drive improvements in monitoring, detection, and incident response capabilities, ensuring that Vercel can respond effectively to security incidents and maintain a strong security posture.
What we offer
Vercel provides a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $336,000.00, which is an estimate based on job-related skills, experience, and location.
